The e-Connect section provides details about the electronic delivery options available to customers wanting to access and apply Lands’ services and spatial datasets within their own applications.
Generally, e-connect services are provided by Lands on a commercial basis.

Open Standards Message Based Technologies
A key feature of our electronic service delivery is the use of open standards message based technologies, which enable better data integration and delivery. These technologies include:
- eXtensible Markup Language.
- SOAP.
- Messaging.
- Web Services.
e-Connect Services
All our e-connect services employ open standards message based technologies. They include:
- Web Services: deliver easy access to selected Lands’ spatial datasets via the web. eg. Address Validation Service.
- Direct Connect: provides direct access to Lands’ key spatial datasets via ER-Mapper and ESRI technologies.
- NSW Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI): provides direct access to the Metadata Exchange - the first stage in the development by Lands of the NSW Spatial Data Infrastructure - via the ESRI Portal Toolkit.
In addition, we offer Lands’ Messaging services for activities such as incremental updates.
